NAME IT & WIN IT CONTEST
Today I'm excited to share with you a nail polish I frankened! Since I am and always will be a lover of the colour purple, I wanted to mix my own purple holo nail polish and here are my results! It's super pretty and I love it but it has no name - boo! Bottle shot in the sun
Staring at it and not being able to come up with a creative name gave me an idea; why not have a contest for those who also love purple and shiny (read holo in this case) to see if someone can give this beauty a great name? Then I thought further that if people put an effort forth to name it, they should have it! Yep, if you name it and the name is chosen, it's yours! And that's the contest, it's pretty simple, right?! NAME IT & WIN IT!

That purple holo seems so YOU so I've been trying to think of a name for it that also goes with your style: Verve
ReplyDeleteThe fuchsia one seemed kind of dreamy to me, but in a pleasant, fuzzy way, so I decided on: Daydream
The multicoloured nature of the flakies in the black made me think of something many sided or duplicitous, so I came up with: Chimera
Last, the blurple flakie. It made me think of water, I guess because it's blu(ish) and with the flakies... but more like the water at dusk, when the setting sun glints red and the water is darker. I found this the hardest to name, but decided on: Sunset Sea

The names I decided on for your frankens were inspired by their beauty and my trip to Germany, more specifically Bavaria and the municipality of Schwangau, which is host to the famous Fussen where one of the most famous castles in the world is located: Neuschwanstein home of Prince Ludwig.
The Franken Names:
Purple holo: "The Fairy Tale Prince" - One of Ludwig's most popular nicknames was "the fairy tale prince" and Ludwig was considered during his time the most attractive German prince. So when I saw this holo I was mesmerized and thought this would be appropriate.
Pink flakey: "Tickle My Fancy" - Prince Ludwig was so beholden to satisfying his every whim that he almost bankrupt Bavaria that "tickle my fancy" seemed most appropriate to describe his attitude towards life.
Black flakey: "Neuschwanstein" - This beautiful fairytale place was were the prince's death occurred; he was found dead in the lake not far from the body of his psychiatrist. The structure to this day remains unfinished and also to this day his death remains shrouded in mystery. It's a place of beauty and wonder despite it's dark history.
Blurple (purple/blue) flakey: "The Swan King" - One of Ludwig's nicknames was "the swan king" and this is a beautiful purple/blue two colors that historically represent royalty and majesty. Also, Swan = lake = blue was on my mind.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the names! Thanks for having the contest I had a lot of fun naming these(just in case you couldn't tell). =)
