On to the nail stuff!
For my Canadian girls, if you were looking to buy Essie a bit cheaper than spending $12 at Shoppers Drug Mart, go check your local Walmart. Yesterday I saw an Essie display, selling them for $8.96 each.
I don't have ANY Essie nail polishes in my stash. They've never had colours that spoke to me. Do you girls like/have Essie? Recommendations?

I'm playing catch up with posting a few things on here, including blog roll, so I will update that today in a bit.
For my NOTD I did a layered mani that I wanted to show you; it was something I had on, but ended up being for MUA, the girls set the challenge for the day to be a Dragon mani. It looks like Dragon scales, right?

Photos were taken in the shade, under an umbrella to show off the flakies. Below is probably my fave shot, it shows the range of all the colours in these flakies. Oh the rainbow!
I find that not enough girls do layering combos, they stick to one colour, but really some nail lacquers are made to be layered over others and in this case my faves are flakes/flakies. So here is Revlon Grape topped with Milani Totally Cool topped with Colorama Ruby Rays.

I like California Coral from Essie, but I'm not super big into the brand. Hi-Maintenance is great for French manicures, but it's super sheer so I haven't found any other use for it. Love the dragon nails, btw! Kind of looks like Nfu-Oh 51! Maybelline really needs to bring back those Colorama polishes.

Lindsey R- See,the reason I haven't wanted any Essie nail polishes is just that, I've heard that they have a sheer formula and that does nothing for me, don't like that.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any Nfu Oh polishes yet, but when I do, you'll be sure that I'll post some swatches. It would be nice if the flakes were that multicoloured but I don't think they are.
thenailaholic - I don't think layering is a bad habit, it's great, it's like finding new nail polishes you didn't have before.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth - I know how you feel about the Coloramas, I wanted to do the same when I got mine and I wish that I had more than just the two of the collection.
