On to the nail stuff!
Today's post will be the longest I'll ever make. It's been a project of mine in the making for the past couple of years, collecting Sally Hansen Nail Prisms. I have not found much documentation on them online and have been frustrated at times, trying to ID some of them. Some have labels with no names and some have different shades released under the same name. Searching for an archive has been disappointing, so I figure if no one else has done it, I will try and here is the start of it.
I've added a tab at the top called NAIL PRISMS LIST, and will update it as I get ones I don't own yet. I have also collected a few back ups, for anyone who's still looking for these, I have them available until the end of this month on my BLOG SALE.
Photos of the holos were taken outdoors, in the sun and photos of the duochromes were taken indoors, under artificial light, but all have been colour balanced. I've added nail swatches to some of these, but will try to add more swatches as time permits.
A silver holo, linear.
On the label it's marked Diamond 4674-01
Pink Rose Diamond (02)
A pink holo, linear.
On the label it's marked Pink Rose Diamond 4674-02
Both the above and below photo are marked Pink Rose Diamond. There are 2 versions of this one, a light and dark version.
Here's a group shot of the ones I came across, all 3 are Pink Rose Diamond, notice the difference in the labeling of the middle one.
Purple Diamond (03)
A purple holo, linear.
On the label it's marked Purple Diamond 4674-03
I have read that there are variations in this shade too, but I've only come across this one so far.
South Sea Pearl (04)
A white pearl with a blue/pink flash.
On the label it's marked South Sea Pearl 4674-04
See it swatched HERE
This one has a release with the name on the label and one without
See it swatched HERE
This one has a release with the name on the label and one without
Emerald Amethyst (05)
A green/purple duochrome.
This one comes with 2 different names and 2 different bottles. In the first 2 bottles, the glass they're in is see-through so you're looking at what colour is inside, but the bottle on the right is painted the colour you see. The colour inside is still the same.
Ruby Sapphire (06)
A purple/burgundy duochrome.
On the label it's marked Ruby Sapphire 4674-06
Garnet Lapis (07)
A blue/purple/pink/yellow multichrome.
On the label it's marked Garnet Lapis 4674-07
See it swatched HERE.
Amber Ruby (08)
A red/amber/gold/green multichrome.
On the label it's marked Amber Ruby 4674-08 or 4674-43 Bronze Pink
Here are 3 bottles of the same shade, yet all marked differently. How confusing! I thought Amber Ruby and Bronze Pink were to be 2 different lacquers, but they are identical. This post might change once I've swatched them both to see what they look like on the nail.
Blush Diamond (09)
A pink/blush linear holo.
On the label it's marked Blush Diamond 4674-09
This one is another one that has 2 colour variations, by the same name. So you can either get a light version or dark version.
As if 2 colour versions wasn't confusing enough, this one has a release with a name on the label and one without. Look at the back of the one on the right, no name.
And yet again, the other version was also released with a label with the name printed and without.
Here are all 4 for good measures, so you can see the colour differences side by side.
Golden Cinnabar (10)
A pink/gold duochrome
On the label it's marked Golden Cinnabar 4674-10 or 5698-07
This one seems to have 3 different labels, 1 with the name and number, 1 with nothing and 1 with only a different number than the first one. Once again, if you didn't have all 3 at your disposal, you might be confused as to what you're actually holding.
Fire Opal (11)
A pink with a blue flash
On the label it's marked Fire Opal 4674-11 or 5399-06
See it swatched HERE
See it swatched over black HERE, it's amazing how it different it looks
As you can see, this one has 3 bottles with the same shade but 3 different labels. Fun.
Coral Amber (12)

Ruby Diamond (13)

A blue/purple duochrome
On the label it's marked Lapis Amethyst 4674-14
This one has a release with the name on the label, one with no name on the label, as well as a third one labeled with the proper name but it's a different shade.

A purple/green duochrome
On the label it's marked Lavender Pearl 4674-15

If any of you have further information as to any of these having duplicates out there in other companies, I'd love to know so that I may add that information to this archive. Also if any of you have back ups of any of the ones I don't own yet, please let me know. I'd love to obtain them so that we may have a complete archive of these beauties and maybe help someone out there.
Till next time!

thank you! so helpful! i have even come across completely different bottle shapes, especially golden cinnabar. they're a bit stouter. have you come across any of those?
ReplyDelete@nirfreak03 I have only seen the shorter bottles online before, but don't have any in my collection. To my understanding some of them have the same shades, but different bottles.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how big the Prisms line was! Thanks for all these photos and the info-- you put a lot of work into this post!
ReplyDeleteI saw two different 5 packs of Nail Prisms at Ross last week.
ReplyDeleteThey either came in a 4 or 5 pack with two different shaped bottles, and were around $5.
I didn't buy it, but I did snap a picture of it- I'll email it to you.
I emailed it...it was a 5 pack for $5.99!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I had no idea there were so many of these! I bought a few of these when they first came out. And I actually just bought the pack that Emily just mentioned. I find it weird that these are showing up now, how long have these been discontinued? And where did they get the stock to make a pack of 5?
ReplyDeleteFantastic post!
ReplyDelete@Emily "Posh" Jurow I've read about those packs on MUA, but it's only girls in the US finding them. Must be some secret warehouse that was stocked with them and now they're releasing them.
ReplyDeleteO.O This is INCREDIBLE!!! Thank you so much for doing this! If I ever find any of the ones you are looking for expect a RAOK package so you can add to your Prisms Guide! Again, thank you so much for doing this! I always wish there were catalogs of the older polishes with this kind of detail. This is an amazing resource!
ReplyDeleteAmazing post, very useful! Thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteawesome post, I've come across the same things you have such as missing names or different shades/batches that are supposed to be the same polish. There were s couple you have listed that I have never seen before.
ReplyDeletehey there, what you have for:
ReplyDeleteEmerald Amethyst (05)
I have an unnamed prism that is identical in colour but the lid has 05 on it. it has both lables but no names. email me at amanduhh.xo@gmail.com if you would like me to send you a picture!
Thank you so much! I have five of these that I found at the CNE (in Toronto) last year and none of them had name labels!
ReplyDeleteI bought a couple of these a few years ago. I am on a search to find a few! Your pictures are outstanding. Your post helpful. Any suggestions where to buy beside ebay? Brenda
ReplyDeleteI would have loved it if these had been available around here, too.
ReplyDeleteAre you selling these on Ebay as I saw one of your photos on there selling the polishes today
ReplyDeleteI am not, nor did I give anyone permission to use my images. Thank you for telling me. I will see if I report it to eBay if anything will be done.
DeleteI hope Ebay stops that company called pinkcircle on Ebay from using your photos to make money that is bang out of order.
DeleteIf you click on SALLY HANSEN - Nail Prisms Duo chrome Nail Varnish Polish - Lilac Aqua you will see your copyrighted photo, I think you need to report this to Ebay as the person is selling polish's under the pretense as you and making a very healthy profit. The polishes are selling for £1 in Poundworld and this person has already had bids of £16 due to your photo
ReplyDeleteWait!!! check out Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Holographic Nail Polish / Varnish - Ruby Diamond seller abbie-xx is using your photos to sell items too. Perhaps your best of checking all the pictures on Ebay to see if they are yours and report it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post! I just founf out what these are and now I'm on the hunt! Thank you so much!
