On to the nail stuff!
I've used nail striping tape before, but I've never taken photos of it to show you all what it looks like. I've also seen some great designs with tape added to them and I'd love to explore more in the future and make some of my own.
Till next time!

It comes in a little spool like this and it comes in different widths. When I bought it on eBay, I believe I got about 10 different colours in one pack.
To start, do your mani. Once your nails are painted and have dried, you can add tape to the design or create a design with the tape itself. Only your imagination is the limit. Now, I've heard of adding a top coat prior to putting on the tape, but this one seems to have a bit of glue on the back, so I've not used a top coat prior to applying the tape.
You have to find the end of it and pull it up a bit, like normal tape.
I try not to touch the back of the tape much. Pull up an end, then apply it directly to the nail, then use snippers (or scissors) to cut it free of the spool.
Once on the nail, use your snippers to cut off the ends left over from one side...
... then cut off the other end. Press down on the nail to ensure that the tape has adhered.
Repeat this process for each nail.
Use top coat on top of the tape to ensure that it stays on the nails.
Here's my finished look. I didn't create any design with the tape, but I like how it created a nice line between the stamp design and the french tip end.
Have any of you played with nail tape before? Created any awesome designs? I find that it only really lasts about a day before the ends start coming up and I need to use top coat to glue them back in place. Any of you have a solution for this problem?
Till next time!

this looks great! i really love it!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fun! I might have to order some on ebay. It's not expensive at all!
ReplyDelete@Beanie Thank you. I love how striping tape can make the lines in a mani look so crisp.
ReplyDelete@Jill Oh I know, they're super cheap!
ReplyDeleteTry using a little dot of nail glue on the striping tape. I've used it for a few months and it lasts quite a bit longer.
