On to the nail stuff!


Today I want to show you some quick and dirty swatches of Sally Hansen's Star and Fire Opals. As one of my future projects I will one day swatch them all to show their true beauty; but in the meantime, during my BLOG SALE I've been asked a few times what they look like, so here they are. Seeing as the bottles are painted and the actual lacquers are fairly sheer colours, these beauties show up best when layered over black or dark colours.

Here's one photo of what 15 Wildfire Opal looks like on the nails, it's layered over black. And yes, eventually I plan on swatching them all.

It's too bad that these are old and long time discontinued by Sally Hansen. I must admit that I dismissed these beauties when I first tried them but how can you once you see what they look like over black?! I'm in love with these, I must say! I'm really excited to find the other 2 I'm missing from this collection. I hope it happens soon!

NOTD: Revlon Blue Mosaic

Today I want to show you Revlon Blue Mosaic, from the 2011 fall Expressionist Collection. I was lucky enough to receive this one as a gift from an online nail friend. She also sent me Starry Pink, see it  HERE.

This one's a clear base with blue glitter and large hex glitter in blue, green and silver. I used 3 coats here.

I'll have to layer this one over something, so that it doesn't look so bare. I'm not sure over what yet. I'm open to any suggestions if any of you have found a great combo.

A few days ago I showed you the mishap I had with Seche Vite with the cracks, see more HERE. I didn't show you the whole mani then, so I figured I'd do so now. I started with Color Club Pretty In Platinum as a base colour, 2 coats.

The stamp colour is Sally Hansen Submariner from the Foot Foils collection, all of those are great for stamping. I wanted to use a gold colour because I've seen it look great over white/pearl base but when I tried, it didn't really work for me, so silver it is. Which of course means I ended up with a tone on tone stamped mani again, ha!
