NOTD: Tommy G # 3 - my first magnetic!

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I finally got my first magnetic lacquer! Woot! Can you tell I'm excited about it? It took me going to Europe to find my first one - Tommy G # 3. So far Tommy G is the only company that I have found here in Greece to have magnetic lacquers.

This one has the magnet attached to the top of the cap, which I thought was pretty smart to do. It's easy to use and works really well. As soon as you put the magnet close enough to the nail, once the lacquer is applied, you can see the colours change.
I only did the one coat, which I quickly learned isn't a good idea (with nothing under it) because if you have no other colour underneath, you can see the nail bed peeking through. I just don't care for that look. Next time I'm going to use another colour under first.
I'd love to go buy some other colours, but at $7 Euro, these are a little bit too rich for my pocket. I wonder if magnetic lacquers are going to be widely manufactured by different companies like crackle was.

NOTD: Korres Grey Brown + RA-104 stamp

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Today I did a Red Angel stamp design from plate RA-104 on top of Korres Grey Brown. I stamped the design with Seventeen 81.

Here's the plate I used
(to see the other Red Angel plates, click HERE)

The colours I used in this design sort of remind me of chocolate in a wrapper. Mmmmm, now I want chocolate. If you'd like to see what Korres Grey Brown looks like on its own, click HERE.

Nail striping tape

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I've used nail striping tape before, but I've never taken photos of it to show you all what it looks like. I've also seen some great designs with tape added to them and I'd love to explore more in the future and make some of my own.

It comes in a little spool like this and it comes in different widths. When I bought it on eBay, I believe I got about 10 different colours in one pack.

To start, do your mani. Once your nails are painted and have dried, you can add tape to the design or create a design with the tape itself. Only your imagination is the limit. Now, I've heard of adding a top coat prior to putting on the tape, but this one seems to have a bit of glue on the back, so I've not used a top coat prior to applying the tape.

You have to find the end of it and pull it up a bit, like normal tape.

I try not to touch the back of the tape much. Pull up an end, then apply it directly to the nail, then use snippers (or scissors) to cut it free of the spool.
Once on the nail, use your snippers to cut off the ends left over from one side...
... then cut off the other end. Press down on the nail to ensure that the tape has adhered.
Repeat this process for each nail.
Use top coat on top of the tape to ensure that it stays on the nails.

Here's my finished look. I didn't create any design with the tape, but I like how it created a nice line between the stamp design and the french tip end.
Have any of you played with nail tape before? Created any awesome designs? I find that it only really lasts about a day before the ends start coming up and I need to use top coat to glue them back in place. Any of you have a solution for this problem?

NOTD: Magnetic Powerful Purple

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Today I want to show you a holo I found in Greece! Here's Magnetic Powerful Purple. I got it in Athens, Greece in this haul HERE.
It's a medium purple holo, but not a linear, it's a scattered, which is too bad for me because I love my linears so much, but someone out there might still love it.
The formula was nice and it took 2 coats to full opacity. I think I'll have to go back and see if I can find other colours.

Close up for those who want to see the sparkles

NOTD: Korres Grey Brown

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I was excited to finally find Korres lacquers, here in Greece, see the rest of my haul HERE. I think they're made locally, but am not sure as I haven't had net access to do any research yet. I will update this post when I can.
You can find these lacquers in pharmacies here in Greece. These lacquers seem to be not only BIG3 Free but free of anything! Look at the back of one.
Here's Korres Grey Brown
I did 2 coats of this one and I must say the formula is just amazing, it's like buttah, so creamy! I don't find it important to myself for a lacquer to be 3BFree but I guess this is a bonus on lacquers from this company.
This one reminds me of chocolate on my nails. It's delicious!

NOTD: Lovie 131 + RA-119 stamp

Pin It Now!
I want to wish you a all a Merry Christmas or if you celebrate a different holiday, enjoy it. I hope you all get your wishes fulfilled and that you take joy in spending your holidays with your loved ones.

On to the nail stuff!

Today's mani is as close as I can get to a winter mani right now. I figured I'd do tone on tone snow flakes. The base is Lovie 131, a lacquer I found locally in Greece at a store that sold cheaper lacquers and other bargain items.

For the stamping, I used Seventeen 81 and Red Angel plate RA-119.
Because the design is of a single snow flake, I stamped it many times over on each nail until I reached the desired look. I'm happy with the final outcome.

My next haul in Athens, Greece

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

My aunt and I had to go to a couple of local beauty stores in Athens (Greece), which I was all too happy about, especially when I saw a big wall of Magnetic lacquers, which I had never tried before.
Just look at it! So many colours that I didn't know which to pick.

Of course I picked up a couple of beauties and I just can't wait to try them. One's a blue/purple flakie with a green micro-glitter in it and one's a holo!
