On to the nail stuff!
I try to mix things up sometimes and experiment, especially with layering. Sometimes you just don't know what you're going to get when you layer, so you should try it. This is my experiment today.
Till next time!

What are you looking at? Well, I layered Essie As Gold As It Gets, from the 2011 Luxeffects Glitter Topcoat Collection, over my stamped mani. And why not? I notice that most girls layer flakies over a plain colour, but not over a stamped mani. Maybe it's because they want to see the design clearly? *shrug*
I started with H&M Nice N'Naughty, then stamped the design from Bundle Monster Plate BM-206 with Seventeen Supreme 81. I thought these two would make good stamping companions and I was right, but I wanted to warm up the mani a bit, hence the gold flakes.

What do you think?
This was one layer of Essie As Gold As It Gets. It was nice a smooth, unlike some flakies don't behave. The only thing I wish is that the flakes were larger, but then maybe they wouldn't behave as well.

Defenately liked!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI like the mix!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to layer it over a stamped image. Lots of fun to look at!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought so. I will have to do more of these to give my manis a bit of dimension
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is stunning!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm feeling better about it now with all these compliments.
DeleteAmazing Combo!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNever thought to layer flakes onto a stamped mani!
ReplyDeleteMaybe because I recently started appreciating flakes...
I should try!
Gorgeous work!
I know, I always think of leaving the stamping alone to make sure it's all crisp, but I'm liking layering now. I'm glad you like it. Try flakes over an old mani to spruce it up a bit next time.
DeleteThanks for this smart advice! I'll try for sure.
DeleteI'm new to experiments and always glad to practice :D
I love this look! I have to say I really wasn't into As Gold As It Gets at all until I saw this mani on you! I love this idea of layering a sheer effect topcoat over stamping!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I decided to layer with it because it's sheer and the gold flakes just add a little sparkle. Try it with any flakie.
