My small haul in Portugal

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

You know, wherever it is that I go, I will inevitably look for lacquer and this time is no different. I may not have found much while in Portugal but I did find the ones that I really wanted. First off, I found Layla holo's!! Woot! I actually debated getting them all, but they are expensive, so I picked these 4.

L-R-> Layla Ocean Rush (see swatch HERE), Layla Mercury Twilight (see it used for stampingHERE), Layla Ultra Violet (see swatch HERE), Layla Flash Black (see swatch HERE)
You cannot imagine how happy I was to have found a KIKO store! I honestly thought that I'd be left with buying some of these through online stores or getting them in swaps. I almost leaped when I saw an actual store I could walk into.
Look at the wall of pretty!!
Out of that whole wall, I only picked up these:
L-R-> KIKO 293, KIKO 278, KIKO 261
Till next time!

    1. Oh yeah, even just to stand there and stare at the pretties was awesome.

  2. You are SO good. I don't think I could have just walked out with 7. Oh, the Layla's are SO awesome! I just got Mercury Twilight and Flash Black from AveYou on-line. I had Ocean Rush & Ultra Violet in my cart but decided to wait until I tested them since they were so pricey. I wish I would have gotten them. I had a coupon too and have been kicking myself. I have been coveting China Glaze OMG & Nfu Oh 61, neither of which I have been able to get my hands on for a reasonable price. The linear holo in the Laylas makes me think I won't care anymore! How fun you got to see them & touch them in person before buying!

    1. Oh trust me, it was not easy to walk away from that wall with only 3 in my hand, but time was a bit limited and of course I have to think of my suitcase. I'm not sure how many bottles I'm going to have with me at the end of my trip, but I imagine it will be quite a few.

  3. Nice!! I just ordered Layla, Flash Black and cannot wait for it to arrive!! were the prices for the Layla's comparable to those online ($15.00)?

    1. You'll just absolutely love them. I can't wait to show you some of my own swatches... when I get a replacement camera.

I paid $10 Euro for each of the Layla's so I guess it's about the same price and now that my suitcase is bursting, I might have to send them to myself via mail rather than taking them home with me.

    1. Oh yeah, I just tried Ultra Violet the other day and it was good but I wish it were darker rather than that light.

  5. I must complain about Layla Holos price here in Genoa. The only store selling them priced them 15 Euros each!! The same price I pay for a Zoya here. That's too much I think for a Layla polish. I should try to get them by ebay!
Anyway, I can't wait to see your holo swatches :D too curious about them!

    1. You're right, $15 Euro is high and I thought paying $10 Euro each was a bit high, but seeing as these are linear holos, they're worth it. I'm not sure if eBay has them cheaper. I'd say wait until girls get it in different countries, like the US and maybe if they get them for a more reasonable price, you could swap with someone.

    2. It would be nice, but Italy has many restrictions on polishes from abroad. You could even have problems with shipments inside the European Union, sometimes :-s
I don't think it's worth the risk to face customs for a shipment from the US. At best, I could pay about 50€ on taxes; at worst, the parcel could never be delivered at all, even if it's tagged as a gift.
I'll be just satisfied if I could find some holos around 10€, I think :D

  6. Oh no!!!
I just saw you link on Esmaltes da Kelly blog and this was my first time visiting you. Too bad 'cause I am portuguese, I live in Lisbon, and I could have told you about a hundred places where you could buy great cheap nail polish! :(

    1. Oh I wish I had known you before my trip too! Maybe I'll bother you if I go back again. Thank you for letting me know. If you're ever in Canada, let me know and I'll give you some tips too.

    2. I wouldn't mind some tips too... I often go to Lisbon...
Is there a place I could get NFU Jellies in Lisbon? If I order them in the US I'd end up paying 10 Euros for a bottle anyway, probably + some customs and vat... their (European)German distributor isn't replying to mails :(
