On to the nail stuff!
Gosh, holographic lacquer, how much I love thee! I'm not sure how many of you have seen the Layla holos now, but if you haven't they are an absolute must have. I normally don't say that about lacquer because I figure if you need it to live, you'll get it. But in this case if you love holos, YOU NEED THESE TO LIVE!

Today I'm going to show you Layla Ocean Rush, a medium blue linear holo. I was so happy to have found the Layla's holos in Portugal (see my haul HERE) that I wanted to buy them all, but these are not cheap.
The reason why you can see the ridges on my nails in these photos is because I didn't use any base at all. I found that unless you have proper base on like Nfu-Oh Aqua Base, this lacquer goes on clumpy, lumpy and streaky - just terrible. This is 3 coats.
All the photos above are taken in sunlight to show the rainbow, but the one below is in the shade. You can still sort of see the rainbow!
Till next time!

When I saw this, I did a 'ring' face in excitement!
ReplyDeleteWhen I put it on, I think I did the same face.
DeleteThis is sooo pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beyond pretty in real life.
DeleteStunning. I saw these in person and had to walk away because of the price. Hopefully I will end up with one soon. This shade looks great on you :)
ReplyDeleteOh I know the feeling. I stood there and debated for a long time, looking at the different bottles and thinking of the price. But then I thought that I could live without other polishes that I might buy with the same money, but I'd hate to walk away from these. I actually bought 3 and left the store and then went back and got one more that I debated. I'm glad I got them, they rock!
DeleteWow! Smack-you-in-the-face holo goodness! I love the intensity of this holo! Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteLOL, they so are smack-you-in-the-face holo but I also love the actual colour of this one. I find that some holos are kind of washed out and light looking but this one isn't.
DeleteI have two Layla shades (the coral and the silver) and I ADORE THEM!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous on you!
I didn't get the coral one, but I'm sure it will be great, just like the others. Enjoy them!
DeleteI do need this one to live but still too pricey for me, if they are still available when I get some extra money this one is on top of the wishlist
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you about the money, they're not cheap but in my opinion worth it. I mean they are more holo than so many other polishes out there pretending to be. I do hope you get them when you get the money, you'll love them.
DeleteI got it! I went to Milan last week-end and found them at 10€. I picked also Flash Black, I couldn't resist!!
ReplyDeleteOh great! I was thinking of you the other day when I put this one, hoping that you'd find a way to get them. I bought them at the same price, so in the end I think we did good. You'll be happy with the end result and I hope you have better luck with the application than I did.
DeleteAMazing
ReplyDeleteWell, last summer I did succumb to the temptation and bought a few, and I love the colors, they are beautiful. Though my inner magpie that loves everything that sparkles makes me add an extra layer of glitter to each holo ;)
ReplyDeleteThe complaints that I have are about application - it's hard to apply the first layer evenly, there get to be patches of thinner and thicker. And it's just impossible to smooth them out. the other one is durability. Well, I agree that if we have over 100 (or more) polishes it doesn't really matter - we change color on our nails every other day (or every 2) just to use them. But the girls who are not maniacs may not be too happy about a polish that rubs off after 3-4 days especially after they paid 10 Euros for it.
