NOTD: Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I don't believe that I own even one yellow lacquer, so when I saw this one on the shelf and it looked so bright and cheery with its hidden shimmer, I picked it up. Boy, what a disappointment! It's a streaky mess and it took me 4 coats to get to almost full opacity. In the end there was still some streaks visible, but less so in the photos. I do not recommend this one, unless you want to be aggravated the way I was.

I kind of like the idea of yellow on my nails, especially under some nail art, but don't know of a good lemon yellow like this. Do any of you?

Next two photos are in the sun so you can see the shimmer a bit better.

Till next time!

  1. Huh, that's weird! I bought this one and I thought the formula was really nice, opaque with two coats. I even bought a backup.
Essence color and go are always kind of a hit and miss I guess though.

  2. China Glaze's Lighthouse is similar to this, without the nightmare formula. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll send you mine (I never use it).

  3. Looks gorgeous! But why do yellow polishes always have such horrible formulas O_o

  7. I've never found a yellow that works properly. I've had a few over the years, and they've always been streaky nightmares. I think it's just not meant to be.

  8. I'm not a fan of lemon and paler yellows. I prefer yolk-like and sunny shades. I like this one though and I'm willing to take a risk with it since Essence polishes are so inexpensive.

  9. Oh, and I just remembered that maybe Maybelline Colorama Urban Lemon might be what you're looking for.
