On to the nail stuff!

I almost didn't get this one when I was buying the Layla's, but after putting it on I'm glad I did. I mean, why did I hesitate when I'm a purple freak?
The only thing about the Layla holos that I don't like is how bad of an application it is without a proper base, like Nfu-Oh's Aqua Base. They go on streaky and clumpy and if you go over the same spot with a brush twice, it takes off the lacquer you just applied. So there's a learning curve when applying these and it can be very frustrating.
Because I didn't have a proper base, I applied this one without a base coat, 3 coats, no top coat. I'm still thinking of how much of a difference the nail file/buffer Layla sells to go with these, but haven't bought it to try it. Have any of you?
Photos in the shade, you can still see the holo, that's how great these are!

I bought the nail buffer from Layla and found it no different then a normal buffer that can give you a super smooth shine/finish :)

ReplyDeleteso amazing!! i got my first Layla holos in the mail today but two of them were missing, one of which was Ultra Violet. they're on the way though. i'm wearing Ocean Rush right now and it is FREAKIN' AWESOME! :D
ReplyDeleteI bought the file, I felt it gave a really crazy shine with little effort. I got mine for like 2 bucks at Ulta. I still though had streaks.
ReplyDeleteI was upset that it was chipping like 8 hours after putting on. It's so pretty though so I'll deal.
I didn't use the nail buffer but used one coat of my Nfu Oh aqua base coat and that seemed to so the trick with Flash Black. I've got this polish but surprisingly I haven't had a chance to use it yet - I know - what am I thinking! All I could think of when I saw your swatches was Yeah Baby! lol
ReplyDeleteI've read that some people with no aqua base have layered it over other regular polish with some good results, not sure how good though.
