NOTD: Golden Rose Fantastic 136 + Bundle Monster BM205 design

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

A purple and black combination always makes me happy and today I'm going to show you a combination on my nails that did just that, it made me happy. And yeah, in case you didn't notice my favourite combination, you just need to look at the colour scheme of this blog, ha!

The base is Golden Rose Fantastic 136, which I happen to find in a Bulgarian grocery store. Yep, my aunt wanted to go see what goodies she could find and I found this lonely Golden Rose, standing there amongst other brands, so I had to rescue it and take it home.

The bottles in the front (of the middle shelf) are a brand called Brooklin (made in France). Have any of you heard of this brand?

For the stamping I used Wet 'n Wild Black Creme and Bundle Monster plate BM-205.

I'm actually quite sad about this plate, when I bought this set, the design I wanted the most (which is of the flowers on the top of this plate) didn't transfer at all. The etching in the plate is too shallow on that end and it doesn't work. Boo.
Of course this issue with this plate makes me wonder, how many of you have received one or more bum plate where the design was not cut deep enough and doesn't transfer? Did you do anything about it?

NOTD: H&M Nice N'Naughty

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I've always liked a nice charcoal or gunmetal on the nail. Not quite black and obviously not silver but a mix of something in between. I'm not sure why I like it but I do. Today I have such a colour to show you from H&M called Nice N'Naughty.

This is my first H&M lacquer and I must say I like it. Funny enough I bought it here in Greece only because I was excited to find a North American store like H&M, and I figured I'd try their brand, see the rest of my haul HERE. I used 2 coats, it dried in a normal time.
I do like the shimmer in this one, you can see it well in the close up.
What's your favourite charcoal?

This was the base of the layered mani I did below, to see more click HERE.

NOTD: Seventeen Supreme 81 + Red Angel RA-114

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I totally forgot to post the mani I had on for New Years Eve, so I figured I'd post it now. Better late than never, right? It's kind of messy because I was in a hurry when I did it and I didn't bother doing over my mistakes. Oh well, not all manis can be perfect.

I was already wearing Seventeen Supreme 81, so I decided to add some stamping.
I chose Red Angel Plate RA-114 (see all the plates HERE).

I stamped it with Wet 'n Wild Black Creme but I didn't want to use the whole nail design, I wanted to leave a funky french. I find that when my nails grow longer, it's more difficult to get the design to fit on the whole nail and double stamping doesn't always work or look good.

Now for some reason, once stamped it looked unfinished to me, so I decided to add the striping tape (see how HERE).

NOTD: Tommy G iMagnet Art 12

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Right along with the newest trend of magnetic lacquers, here's one of my new favourite ones, Tommy G iMagnet Art 12. I'm sure there will be many from various brands, but I'm quite impressed with this one. If you'd like to see this one with stamped design over it, click HERE.
In the shade
I painted one coat without using the magnet, then after the second coat, I used the magnet (attached to the top of the cap) on a diagonal to make the design. You only need to hold it above the nail for a few seconds and watch the magic happen.

In the shade, you can really see the purple/blue shift.
But this beauty really shows off in the sun. The purple/pink shimmer is just great and the blue really stands out as if it were glowing.
I can't wait to try other colours from this brand. There's another one I picked up during a haul HERE, which has holo glitter in it!

What's your favourite magnetic lacquer right now?

Till next time!

If you have missed previous blog rolls, there's a tab at the very top of my blog, funny enough called BLOG ROLL where you can see other blogs that I've come across before. If you're a follower of mine, chances are you've made it to that list.

Also, if you haven't seen them yet, at the very bottom of my blog, I have featured blogs that are near and dear to my heart, because I am Polish, Canadian and a redhead, so I've been on the lookout for blogs written by others like me. You should check them out and if you know of others that aren't on my list, by all means, let me know please! Thank you!

NOTD: Magnetic Freakin' Violet

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I'm so glad to have found this most unique lacquer that I get to show you all today. If you'd like to see the rest of my haul from that day, click HERE. It's no secret that I love a good flake lacquer but this one is so much more. Here is Magnetic Freakin' Violet (168131).

Pictures in the sun to show the shimmer
This is a deep purple/indigo jelly base, filled with purple/blue flakes and green shimmer! It's so tough to photograph. Flakes like clouds and shimmer likes sun, so here are many photo attempts to show this beauty off.
 In the sun
In the shade

I picked this one up on a whim while at the beauty supply store near Athens, Greece and it makes me wonder if this line carries any more beauties like it. I don't get to go shopping often, so I might be wondering for a while. Wouldn't you all like to see more like this one?

Bottle shot just for fun, it's too bad this one doesn't look this way on the nail.

I've also decided to add a short video to show off this pretty. It's too bad that my cam is so crappy. Oh well.
Click the link below to see.
Oh, if you're missed it, this lacquer was the base of the mani below.
See the rest of it HERE.

NOTD: My take on a butterfly wings mani

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I've seen quite a few butterfly wing manis online and I think most of them were painted by hand. Well, I haven't attempted the manual version yet, but have put together what I consider to be a most adequate stamped substitute. What do you think?

What it took to get look:
The base is Magnetic Freakin' Violet (see it swatched HERE)

The stamping done with
L-R-> Seventeen Supreme 81, Sally Hansen Turquoise Chrome, Sally Hansen Royal Purple Chrome and Sally Hansen Carnelian Chrome
The plate I used is Red Angel RA-107
I wanted to show you what I did. Basically I just left the caps of each lacquer loose to do this fast, I just blobbed on random spots with different colours...
... then scraped as usual and stamped my nails.
I love the outcome, because the colours mix a bit together and this design has large enough spaces where the dark lacquer is to still see some flakies peeking from underneath.
I know this isn't as nice as some of the butterfly wing manis I've seen, but it's ok. This might be my favourite mani I've done.

NOTD: Seventeen Super Shine 539

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Who doesn't like a nice duochrome, especially a glass fleck one?! I found this beauty, during my excursion out with my aunt, here in Greece. See the rest of my haul HERE. Today I finally got a chance to try Seventeen Super Shine 539.

All photos are taken outside on a cloudy day, at the end of the day so they're a bit darker than I like, but I love how this one looks in the bottle and on the nails! I did 3 coats but didn't really need all 3, I just like doing that to get a nice clean mani.

I guess the good news for girls in Europe is that this is a dupe for Mac Mean & Green, Orly Space Cadet and Hard Candy Beetle, so if you wanted any of those, get yourself this one and you'll have a great substitute.

NOTD: Tommy G iMagnet Art 12 + Red Angel RA-105

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Magnetic lacquers are getting more popular and more companies are coming out with them, but I've yet to see any with Konad/fauxnad stamping over them, so I figured I'd try it and see what happens. I'm quite happy with the result.
Photos in the sun
I think the purple/blue duo stripes under the stamping look awesome, especially in the sun, where you can see that Tommy G iMagnet Art 12 has a pink hidden shimmer to it. So pretty. Of course this being a magnetic lacquer, I created the stripes with a magnet by holding it at an diagonal angle. See the swatch of it alone HERE.
I used Seventeen Supreme 81 to stamp the design from Red Angel Plate RA-105
(see all Red Angel plates HERE)

I thought I'd take some photos in the shade, to show off the stamping more.
What do you all think of the effect? I'm definitely going to try it again.
