NOTD: striping tape over glitter gradient

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Today I get to show you another nail striping tape mani, this time it's over a glitter gradient. If you've yet to try one of these, I showed you a quick tutorial on nail striping tape manicures HERE.
For this mani the base HERE, it's Lacquistry Menorah Lights and Lacquistry Sugar Plum Soaked In Rum. I'm not sure if Lacquistry still has these indie lacquers available, but you can find her on Etsy HERE, and there's a Facebook fan page HERE.
Once I had the base done for this mani, I used the tape,I then added a coat of Fright Night Claw Polish Sinister and peeled off the tape and viola! How many of you tried tape manicures like this?

NOTD: stamping Cheeky CH-9 over nail foil = Soap Bubble Mani

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

Would you like to see a mani that makes me happy? This one turned out so awesome that I've been staring at my nails all day, I'm lucky that I didn't get into an accident while driving. I'm going to call it a Soap Bubble Mani. This is my first time trying nail foils and of course I couldn't just leave it alone, so I stamped over it. The base is Ocean Mist nail foil I purchased from www.dollarnailart.com a good few months ago, but I only got around to trying it now.

To any of you who have tried nail foils, any tips are welcome and I have one question - what type of top coat does one use to make sure the foil doesn't wrinkle?

All photos taken in the shade
For the design I used plate Cheeky CH-9 and I just realized that I haven't posted that set yet, so you'll have to wait to see the plate or google it. I stamped with Wet 'N Wild Black Creme.
In the close ups you can really see the imperfections of where the foil didn't stick and it looks like a crack. This is not something you can really see in real life though, it's a macro thing.

What I really love about this foil is that it's so shiny and mirror-like, yet it's a duochrome at angles and if flashes purple more than I can show in photos. I tried. I must try more nail foils! Have you yet?
Till next time!

Smitten Polish bottle pics

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I'm sure by now most of you have tried some indie lacquers as there are many out there. A friend of mine has a blog called Noelie's Nails and she is one of those indie lacquer makers. Her and I share an affinity for the same colours, so the lacquers she's been making are ones that I'm just loving, it's like she's making them for me! I mean, look at the pretties below, they rock! She's made a new one recently that just made my heart skip a beat, she posted about it on her Facebook page HERE.

If you're interested, Smitten Polishes can be purchased online at Noelie's Etsy store HERE. So far I've tried one of these and it was super pretty, so I'm excited to show you the other ones. For now I want to show you bottle shots I took of them.

NOTD: Astor Fash'N Studio No.134 + Mash-50

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I want to show you a tone on tone mani I did today, using my favourite colour, which of course is purple. I'm totally happy with the design, mainly because it was my first try with Mash plates and they turned out to be great so far! I'm excited to try more of them, but for now this is the mani I created. What do you think?

I used Mash-50 plate for the design.
(see all Mash plates 26-50 HERE)

For the base, I started with Astor Fash'N Studio No.134, which was part of my haul in Spain. If you missed it, see it HERE. I used Sally Hansen Royal Purple Chrome for stamping. If you've never tried Sally Hansen Chromes for stamping, you should try them, they're great!
How many of you tried Mash plates so far? What do you think?

MASH 2012 stamping plates set 26-50

Pin It Now!
On to the nail stuff!

I finally received the MASH 2012 stamping plate set 26-50 and today I want to show you the individual plates. So far there are quite a few that I'm excited to try, mostly the full nail designs. You can find MASH plates on their site HERE and you can like them on Facebook HERE. I just noticed that MASH has a contest going on for the next few days on Facebook, I'm thinking of entering if, you should too!

Have you tried these plates yet? Which ones are good? Eeeek, I see ninja stars on plate 47!

I really like that each plate shows up individually wrapped.
Each plate has a blue film on the front protecting it, so remember to remove it before using each plate.
There is a protective backing on each plate to prevent any sharp edges.
Here are the individual plates Mash-26 to Mash-50

I get really excited when I get my little paws on new stamping plates and today I received a new set to me by MASH. To purchase this set you can find it on the MASH website HERE and you can like them on Facebook HERE. I have seen quite a few of these used around the blogosphere and must admit, I'm excited to try them myself.
I must say that my first impression is of this set is good, as you can see each plate is individually wrapped. The etchings look good also. I'll show you the full set tomorrow.
